Congress has no problem with adding a television studio to the presidential helicopter replacement design (no joke...this was part of what caused that program to spiral wildly over budget), but actually letting the military set R&D priorities is apparently forbidden.
If the Republicans want to support the strategic viability of the military, they(quadruple italic/bold/underline/called out emphasis) to support a secure supply.
I also want to point out that this would ban not just biofuels, but also coal-to-liquid fuels.
$26 per gallon is far too much to pay for the military's regular fuel supply.
It's relatively inexpensive for R&D supplies, however, which is the stage the military is at right now.
A far better move would have been to restrict the total dollar value they could spend on experimental fuels.
